I search, both in my work and in my books, to invite people to explore the world, each other and themselves through fantasy and reality, to grow emotionally. Central to all my work is the thought that everybody is a person in their own right, that we need to respect each other and should not fill each other in. We should never assume that we know the other person, never pretend that we are able to read each other's minds. Instead we should take one step back, be curious about the other and risk it, take the chance that we might change if we really start to listen to one another! Similar we shouldn't even pretend that we know ourselves, as we are too complex, we are so many thoughts and feelings at the same time. Writing my books is a way of being curious about myself and others, never knowing where the story will bring me. Hopefully readers will end up in a different place as well.
